Potpourri

I think that's how it's spelled.

Today I tried something new. I call it Vanilla Issey. I had the usual Issey Miyake, but today I showered with some of that vanilla scented shower gel stuff. So we will see how many crack rats and bums I can draw in one day.

I am jealous of all of these different blog layouts. I thought I was on something with my color change, lol. But its okay, as long as the content is strong, I won't need none of the flashy stuff... yet.

I think I have a phobia. A fear of barbershops. I'm not sure why though. Maybe it stems from moms dragging me there every 2 weeks thru elementary and high school having this same old nigga (either my Uncle Ray, or old ass Tom) giving me the 'same old collision' haircut. Or maybe I just don't like barbershops. Matter fact, since 1998, the last time Max had anything resembling a bald head, I can count how many times I have been to a barbershop. Let's see...

The last time? january 2003. 6 months ago

Time before that? july 2002

before that? November 2001 (my aunts INSISTED since it was the week I was to go on Millionaire and they said I was not gonna embarass them on national TV by having my hair look a hot mess. )

Before that? December 2000 (I had my locks cut off)

Sometime this week, I think I will have to make a visit to a shop, and not just to buy a bootleg version of The Hulk.

In Other News...

Recently there was some shit in all the newspapers saying that Latinos are now the #1 minority in terms of population.

Why is this a surprise?

Well, I guess it is to most of White America. It seems as though nothing exists to them until its on the news, or in the Journal, or some shit like that...

School violence, for instance. As if kids were not getting shot up at school before then ( I know of at LEAST 5 incidents when I was in high school)

But anyway, let me go eat something healthy for a change...

For the longest my friends and family members had jokes about my hair -- I informed them I wouldn't be getting a haircut because I had decided to grow my "Indian" out and grow locs ... I guess I proved them wrong because they didn't think it was going to happen -- I've been without a haircut for two years now.
